Short answer: a typical London porch build goes survey, written price, planning checks, ordering materials, footings, brickwork, roof, door and glazing, then finishing and a final clean. Once work starts on site, most porches take around a week.
1. Free survey
We measure the front, look at drains, meters and the step, check the brick and roof tile, and talk through style and door options.
2. Written fixed price
You get a clear written price covering everything we discussed, with no day rates.
3. Planning and building regulations checks
We confirm whether your porch falls under permitted development or needs an application. See our guides on planning permission and building regulations.
4. Materials ordered
Matched brick, roof tiles and a made-to-measure door are ordered. This is usually the longest wait in the whole process, which is why booking the survey early brings the build date forward.
5. Footings and groundworks
We dig and pour foundations and deal with any drains or meters. More detail in our foundations guide.
6. Brickwork, roof and door
Walls go up, the roof is framed and tiled, then the door and glazing go in.
7. Finishing
Plastering, sealing, any lighting, and a full clean before we hand over.
How to prepare
Clear the front path, plan where you will park, and let neighbours know. We work across Acton, Southall, Isleworth and the rest of West London.
